I was watching the current affairs programs on tv (as I enjoy filling my mind with garbage) and two things struck with me disgust.
First of all was that some old lady that was blind spent all or her money and savings on the pokies and apparently it's our fault for not doing anything. SHE'S BLIND! NOT RETARDED! It is in no way anyone's fault but her own, how dare 'Today Tonight' (the program name) even SUGGEST that it was someone elses fault apart from the old lady's fault. IT's not like she thought the pokie machine was something else, and if she did, then maybe she is retarded and maybe it isn't completly her fault.
The next thing was a teacher being punished for putting a boy who was the main instigator behind a schoolyard fight into a headlock. The boy was CLEARLY in error, and deserved far more than what he got, but no! he claims that he 'calmed down a few seconds after he was put in a headlock'...
...
...
BULL SHIT!
Everyone knows that you don't calm down when put into a headlock, you get angrier. Indeed, the video footage taken by some person who was watching shows this. How dare the child and his dad (Who are both bogans; don't know what that means? look it up) even think to try and accuse the teacher of assault.
So i suppose i shouldn't be surprised by these two stupid stories because it's not like the current affair programs ever have anything interesting. I'm just angry...

I bet if the same thing happened 40 years ago it would not have made television, as in it would not have been that big of a deal. Why have times changed so much, why do people always reminise about the "good 'ol days" ? are times getting worse, I know some people are!

Our current society seems to teach that there are no consequences to an individual's actions.  In addition, if anything does happen, it is certainly not the individuals fault.

Personal responsibility seems to be an 'old fashioned' idea:(

and that is exactly the wrong way we should be heading, people should be made increasingly accountable for their actions, not less

I completely agree.
Unfortunately I am not sure how to go about getting us to that point.

I encourage responsibility among my own family and friends.  But what can we do to combat the lack of responsibility on a large scale?

Maybe we should start killing 1 person a day, and eating them.
