I use old socks to bag stuff in my hiking pack, like rope/cord, sample collection bags, etcetera. Use different colored socks as stuff bags so you can quickly identify & get the right stuff when you need it. Sew a pull string to the top of the sock ankle, or use a rubber band, bread tie, or just twist & turn inside out to close.  Tongue

^^ what neat idea for someone that actually wears colored sox.

Embarrassed i tend to stick with plain white and all of my dress socks are rather stern in color.

now that i've openly admitted to having this box of sox that i 'supposedly' use for cleaning and dusting, i should actually use them.  Undecided

how did cold weather sox season arrive and not get mentioned?  Huh

i also like wearing beanies during the winter. Cheesy a beanie is sort of like a sock for your cranium, right?

yes; i often hear beanies referred to as 'stocking hats'. i wear one rolled up short like what is called a 'skull cap' as i don't care for the feel of a hat pulled on too far.  Undecided  there is an old and honored saying that goes, "when your feet are cold, put on a hat".  i love old & honored sock your head sayings.  Grin

Huh i've never heard of stocking hats, but i can see how that would fit.

lol, i guess i was referring to a 'skull cap' as well since i don't wear beanies that have a cuff, or one of those silly wobbly do-dah things on the top. like you, i prefer the shorter style too.

i think i'd like to own one of those funky alpaca hats too. Tongue (just for the sheer fun of it!)
